Careers

Begin your career in accountancy with us. If you’re about to leave school and don't think university is for you, AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) could be the perfect opportunity for you to start a great career.

Not only will you gain a professional qualification you will also gain invaluable experience in the accountancy profession.

The AAT qualification is aimed at school leavers and offers an exciting alternative to university life. Well-respected and highly sought after, many apprentices who achieve AAT status go on to study further professional qualifications, often becoming ICAEW or ACCA qualified accountants.

The AAT qualification is gained through both exams and work based experience, something we believe in at Friend-James.
At Friend-James we pride ourselves in being a regulated training practice offering the opportunity of training contracts to become qualified accountants.

Support is given from seniors at the firm and current trainees across a three year training contract to help you get the most out of your training.

Join ICAEW and become part of a community of leading global accountancy professionals. When you become a member, you will be awarded the highly-respected ACA designation, which is recognised globally. You will also gain access to world-leading information resources, technical guidance, advisory services and local member networks.

We are also an accredited ACCA training provider. Founded in 1904, ACCA has consistently held unique core values: opportunity, innovation, integrity, diversity and accountability.

ACCA works to strengthen a global profession based on the application of consistent standards, which we believe best supports international business and the desire of talented people to have successful, international careers.
